YOUTUBE has unveiled its new desktop design, which includes faster performance, a clean new look, and a dark theme for late-night binge watching

• YouTube has taken the wraps off a brand-new look to celebrate the hugely-popular video platform's 12th birthday.
• The new design is much cleaner than previous iterations, highlighting favourite videos and YouTubers' accounts.
• YouTube describes the new look as "clean and fresh, thanks to the removal of visuals that can distract from your browsing or watching experience".
• The main menu now uses a smaller font size, which maximises the number of video thumbnails that appear on-screen.
• Users can also hide the menu entirely – freeing up all of your screen real-estate for YouTube videos.
